Night in an ambulance & Crossing into Canada via the Top Of The World Highway

Categories Canada

The ride from the RV-Park in Glenallen (where we got free dessert yay!) to Tok was great and we managed to dodge all the rainclouds until we hit a major downpour. We spent the night at the Thompsons Eagle’s Claw Motorcycle Camp in Tok with Vanessa, where we where able to do an oil change and sit around a campfire with other riders followed by an amazing sauna in the middle of a forest. Our room for the night was an old converted Ambulance. What a great place!

The next morning we continued towards the Canadian boarder via the Top Of The World Highway. The ride was beautiful although we hit major fog and heavy downpours which made the road very muddy. We where grateful to have little 250’s in this conditions! drenched we reached the Klondike river and rolled directly onto the ferry over to Dawson City

We managed to get the last room at the Bunkhouse Hotel, run by a friendly young Swiss expat. Included where hot showers and a pressure washer for our bikes to get rid of all the mud which was baked on to our little engines by then.

We spent a day exploring the mining history of the the town, meeting the new generation of settled hipsters and drinking beers. Tomorrow we are going to tackle the Dempster Highway to Inuvik!
